Worship At Westchester Congregational Church

Sunday Morning Worship
At WCC, we believe that worship is essential for Christian nurture and growth. Sunday worship and Sunday school
is held at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday with both adults and children gathering together in the sanctuary.

Our worship includes traditional music and hymns (favorite Gospel hymns during the summer services), a children's sermon, and biblical preaching that seeks to connect God's eternal Word with the needs and concerns of present day living. Following the children's sermon the children are excused to go to their classrooms. Holy Communion (Our Lord's Supper) is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month.

In addition, Holy Communion is also celebrated on Maundy Thursday; and one of the highlights of the year is our Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service.
Baptism is offered to people of all ages including infants. Except for special requests and/or circumstances, all baptisms are incorporated into a regular Sunday morning worship service.

Special Worship Services
In addition to observance of the special Sundays related to the Christian Liturgical
Calendar, WCC offers a variety of special worship services throughout the year including…
Maundy Thursday Service of Holy Communion
Easter Sunrise Service at the Gazebo
Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion
Occasional Summertime Outdoor Service (weather permitting)

We also participate with other Colchester congregations in an Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Serviceheld at a different houses of worship each year.
